Fishing has been a core part of Captain Richard Delgado’s life since he was just five years old. What began as simple family outings with a cane pole and a box of bait quickly grew into a lifelong passion for exploring coastal waters. During his 20 years of honorable service in the U.S. Army, Richard had the opportunity to fish diverse locations across the globe, mastering a wide variety of angling techniques and water environments. When he retired from military service in 2022, he returned to his roots on Florida’s Gulf Coast and founded Tops Charters, fulfilling his vision of guiding guests through the productive shallow waters of Crystal River. Over the years, Captain Richard has earned a well-deserved reputation as a knowledgeable, patient, and approachable local guide.
